How to Immigrate to Canada

The vast majority of newcomers to Canada become residents through economic immigration programs. Job vacancies at record high means that there are many opportunities for foreign nationals with the skills needed to fill labor gaps in the Canadian economy.

There are countless nominee programs offered by Canada’s ten provinces and three territories. Each PNP has its own unique eligibility criteria. Many PNPs require a connection to the province to apply for nomination, meanwhile the province of Quebec operates its own immigration programs which are outside of the federal Express Entry system and follows a two-step process to applying for permanent residence.

There are some programs that invite overseas candidates solely based on their ability to respond to the province’s labor market needs. Canada’s fastest and most popular immigration program is the Express Entry mainly through 3 streams (FSW,CEC,FST). Candidates that apply through the Express Entry system can receive permanent residence status as soon as six months.

There are more than 80 pathways to immigrate to Canada! Each immigration program has its own minimum eligibility requirements. Some immigration programs require higher qualifications and more documents than others. It is important to verify your eligibility prior to applying.
